For September’s Night with the Experts, NEIS welcomes Dr. Yazan Alwadi for a talk on residential proximity to nuclear power plants and health outcomes. Dr. Alwadi is the lead and corresponding author of four recent epidemiological studies examining health outcomes in populations living near nuclear power plants in the United States. He will walk through what those studies looked at, what the findings show, and what they mean for the communities closest to these facilities — a question with new urgency as the U.S. moves to expand and incentivize nuclear power. Time for audience questions will follow the presentation.
